The MIND Diet Can Help Lower Your Dementia Risk No Matter Your Age

A new study has found that following the MIND diet, a combination of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, can reduce the risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, even when started later in life. The study, which analyzed data from nearly 93,000 U.S. adults, showed that those who adhered to the MIND diet experienced a 9% lower risk of dementia, with a 25% reduction in risk for those who improved their diet over 10 years. These benefits were especially evident in white, Latino, and African American participants. The research highlights that it’s never too late to adopt a healthy diet to help prevent dementia.

Healthy Fact of the Day: Taking short movement breaks throughout the day can boost circulation, improve focus, and reduce muscle tension. Sitting for long periods can slow your metabolism and impact your posture, but even a few minutes of stretching or walking each hour can refresh your body and mind and support long-term health.
